Where is the best areas of boston for foreign students on holiday to rent during the summer?

Q. Group of Irish students spending the summer in boston. Want somewhere with a young/student population during the summer, fun places to visit, good night life and decent job prospects, maybe even an irish community although not essential. Possibly in the cambridge area? specific apartment blocks, houses, flats etc or general areas of boston all comments welcome cheers

A. You will certainly find a lot of Americans of Irish descent in the Boston area. The problem you will have is your ages. Very few American hotels will rent to anyone under 21 years. They have found that unchaperoned teens tend to damage the rooms and disturb other guests.

Irish soccer hooligans have given the Irish a bad name internationally. Inn keepers may consider your group to be a bunch of rowdy kids, and would not be willing to have you as guests.

As tourists you can NOT legally work in the United States. You need a work visa for that, and they are extremely difficult to get.

What are some job opportunities at a hotel?
Q. Hotels in the Cambridge areas. Such as the SHERATON COMMANDER, THE INN AT HARVARD, THE HARVARD SQUARE HOTEL, THE CHARLES HOTEL, etc..

A. Desk clerk, bell hop, maid, manager, assistant manager, night auditor, maintenance personnel.

What are some fun things to do/good places to stay in Boston?
Q. My boyfriend and I are going for the first time for a few days. What are some fun things we could do there? I've heard there are some haunted tours.

Also, does anyone know a reasonable priced hotel to stay at that is close the action.

Thank you!

A. Must-see sights
Faneuil Hall Marketplace
The Freedom Trail (includes Boston Common and the USS Constitution)
Harvard Square (Cambridge)

Take a swan boat ride in the lagoon of Bostonâs Public Garden (mid-April to mid-September)
The Big Dig has made driving in Boston ... well, difficult. Use the opportunity to explore this great city on foot.
Visit nearby Lexington on Patriotsâ Day (third Monday in April) and see Revolutionary War reenactments.
