These Hotels are going to Cost you well over ¥1,500 a night. What you have to know is there are so many hotels in GZ that will give you a "discount" when you go in. The Price listed is not usually the price. In an area of Tian He... Called GANG DING Metro EXIT Gang Ding... there are many hotels for ¥450 to ¥750 a night...

A. I live in Guangzhou - the biggest city in Guangdong - and it's pretty safe here. As others have said, the only thing you really need to worry about it pickpockets and people trying to rip you off. Be particularly alert around the train stations and Garden Hotel area if you're coming to Guangzhou and never get into a private taxi. There are few violent crimes and those crimes are never against foreigners. Sichuan is even safer :-) Have a great trip.
