What is the cheapest way to go to Macau from HK?

Q. I know the many different ways.. but to save myself some time.. which is the cheapest way? I've assumed it's not by helicopter or turbo jet.. and how much is the cheapest? Roundtrip?

Also.. do they speak English throughout Macau? Will the hotel staff speak English? How about in the casinos?
Thanks!

A. The ferry will be your cheapest way to get to Macau I think. That's taking a roundtrip into consideration.

Macau is considered a major tourist spot in China, and if you go to places that are often visited by tourists, you are likely to encounter people who are able to speak English. And the staff in the casinos and hotels in the main area will have the highest proficiency in English in all likelihood, especially those that have a high amount of contact with guests. That is a must if they will interact with foreign guests.

Can i visit the Macao hotels even if not staying with them?
Q. I am planning to visit Macao this december and was wondering whether i could visit the MGM, Wynn and Venetian hotels in Macao. I will only be here for a day trip and would like to know if i could explore these hotels and take pics even though im not staying there. Thanks

A. These are casinos. The public areas are open, often have entertainment, and some have free (non-alchoholic) drinks at night in the gambling areas (and free alchoholic drinks in the high rollers room).

You won't be able to go to the guest rooms areas, most modern 5 star hotels have lifts that require you use your key card to get to your floor.

These places are entertaining enough and something to do at night in Macao.

Is there a free shuttle bus in Macau for you to get see tourist attractions there?
Q. I will be having my vacation with my sister in Hong Kong and we're planning to go in Macau 'cause it's a 30 minute ferry ride. I heard that there's a free shuttle bus that go around the city for you to see different tourist attractions? Is it true?

A. many free shuttle buses from the ferry piers to hotels only. Macao is very small, a taxi ride of MOP 100-150 will take you around the whole city.
