What should i do during my week stay in Dublin?

Q. My sister is studying abroad at the College of Art and Design in Dublin. Im visiting her in the middle of May and would like some suggestions on what we should do. I would love to take a day trip somewhere to see some castles so any tips on where/how to do that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what is the weather usually like in the middle of May?

A. Best is to get a ticket for the hop-on/hop off bus, which does a circuit of all the attractions in Dublin. You can then decide what you want to spend more time on.

For castles, there are many day-tours offered from Dublin and you can get brochures from the lobby of any hotel, or at the tourist office.

Pack for cool days with cooler evenings, and rain is always more than a possibility.

Check with your health insurance to find out if it covers you outside the USA and pays for medical evacuation to home (should that be necessary). If yes then take proof of coverage with you. If no or not sure then get trip medical insurance, which is cheap and sold by airlines & travel agents. Please do not skimp on this as an otherwise-silly accident could turn into a crisis if you don't have medical insurance.

Unless the extra $30 would be important then get a passport card in addition to the regular passport:

The cards are only valid for crossing land/sea borders within North America, but they make great daily ID when traveling abroad. That lets you keep your regular passport (and US driving license) safely tucked away.

The cards also donât show your home address (like a driving license or state ID card does), making it much less likely someone could steal your identity while you are traveling.

What are some good, cheap hostels / hotels in Dublin?
Q. I'm planning on going to Dublin next summer (late May), 4 people total. Somewhere with a good location, not too expensive. Also any hints on cheap airfare from Boston would be appreciated.

A. Visit http://iluvtotravel.blogspot.com/ and click on the various options in the 'Book Cheap Accomodation' section on the right hand side.

Since you are booking so much in advance, I'm sure it will not be a problem to find cheap hostel... even hotel.

what is the nearest hotel to the national stadium dublin?
Q. im going to see TNA with my sisters in jan 2011 and we are planning to stay in a hotel near by but dont know which is the best to stay in... when we wen to see WWE in the o2 we stayed at the clarion hotel dublin and we ended up meeting all the wrestlers! it was amazing so im hoping to stay in a good hotel near buy that TNA will hopefully also be staying in... any sugestions? thanks! x

A. The address of the National Stadium is South Circular Road, Dublin 8.

Google will show you where this is on a map if you do a search for "Dublin National Stadium" A search on Google maps for "hotels Dublin 8" will show you the hotels in that area, the nearest are The Inishowen Guest House, The Hilton Loronda and the Maldron Hotel. There are many more fairly close to choose from if you do the above. .
