Where is a reasonably inexpensive hotel in Boston area with easy access to downtown?

Q. Taking teens on a college search trip to Boston. Hotels in town are pricey. Looking for a hotel such as a Hampton or Comfort in from which we can easily access the historic areas and colleges such as B.C., B.U and Northeastern U.

A. I would recommend the Hampton Inn Boston/Braintree.

While it's not NEAR these schools, what you asked for is EASY ACCESS to the schools. You can go to the Braintree or Quincy Adams MBTA (which is called "The T" for short) and take it to the various schools. All the schools you mentioned are easily accessible via the Green Line. You can catch the Red Line at Braintree or Quincy Adams (there's ample parking at either station) to Park Street Station, catch the green line to the schools you want to visit, and then you don't have to worry about finding a parking place. (In Boston, there's about three cars for every parking space available).

While there, you should also consider taking the red line up to Harvard Square and check out the Harvard and MIT campuses too. Even if your prospective students have no interest in attending those schools, it's really neat to be able to visit the campus and be able to say you've been there.

The Hampton Boston/Braintree is about $125 per night, which is quite a bit less than most of the hotels in Boston proper, and again, it's pretty easy to access the city via the T.

Hope this helps.

What is a great hotel in Boston to celebrate an anniversary?
Q. Also, what site offers the best deals? Any tips or secrets to the lowest price for a Boston hotel?

A. I've had good luck with Priceline. You can get tips and what other people have done at http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/. Make sure you choose 4* hotels and you can't go wrong.

Is there a NYC/metro place that serves a chocolate brunch similar to that at the famous hotel in Boston?
Q. A Boston hotel serves up the most incredible chocolate dessert brunch you could ever imagine. It even has a liquid chocolate fountain that you can coat fruit in.
What about NYC or Westchester County?

A. Yes! You should go to Max Brenner in Union Square. Its incredible.
