Is there a flat rate for a cab or taxi at the Boston airport?

Q. Thank you for your time if you know the answer. Cheers!
Going to a hotel.

A. All areas within a 12-mile radius of downtown Boston are charged a metered rate. Beyond the 12-mile radius the charge is a flat rate. (See chart below) All fares are based upon the occupancy of one to four passengers per taxi.

Meter Rates

Starting meter $2.25
Each additional 1/8 mile $.30

What area in Boston would be the best area to stay?
Q. I am planning a trip to boston with my girlfriend next year, and we were wondering what area would be the best. We definitely want to catch a Red Sox game, but we also want to visit a few of the attractions like the aquarium and zoo, maybe a park, and a museum or two.
I forgot to add a few things. We wasn't planning on renting a car and was wondering if there was any way from the airport to a hotel?

A. The best areas to consider staying would be around Copley or the Back Bay. There are also a couple hotels near Kenmore Square and some right in downtown Boston. Even Brookline and the Longwood area are pretty close and on public transit. Location-wise, I'd recommend something in the Copley area as you'll be within a couple blocks of public transit and you can even walk to Fenway Park (where the Red Sox play) and to a lot of other places.

As far as getting from the airport to a hotel - I travel all over the place, and in my experience, the Boston airport is one of the easiest to get to in the world via public transportation. It's also extremely close to downtown and these other places (no more than about 6-7 miles at most, even less from downtown). There are free shuttles to the subway from the airport terminals, and you can get into the city in under 30 minutes. It's definitely a smart idea to not rent a car, as this will save you a LOT of time, money, and stress. You can get to the places you're going a lot quicker via walking or subway than by car.

Hotels for an afterparty in Downtown Boston?
Q. Anyone know a hotel that would be ok with about 20 people in a room on a late Friday night. The music would not be loud and we'd pretty much be talking and drinking, nothing too wild. If you know hotels that are really strict or that would block a bunch of people from coming in at the same time, pleas list those too.

A. I'd try the Sheraton in Copley Square just because of the way it is laid out. There are multiple entrances and there's elevator access to the rooms from those entrances so no one will even notice a crowd of people coming in from the Prudential Center. :)
