Can you walk around a hotel even if you don't have a room there?

Q. Are you allowed to walk around a hotel, even if you don't have a room there? I want to go inside the Willard hotel. Everyone keeps telling me how nice it is. So would I get in trouble if I just walk around?

A. Technically you are trespassing on the hotel property and they can ask you to leave. But, as long as you look like you have business there and, as mentioned, stay within the public areas, you can probably get away with a lot of sightseeing. But do not wander the halls outside the guest rooms. This qualifies as suspicious behavior.

So, do your casual observations and then leave. But if you are asked to leave before you are done, don't argue, be polite and immediately leave. Best you also don't try to come back later. They CAN call the police to make sure you stay away.

getting to a hotel in central Washington DC from Dulles airport?
Q. how can you get from Dulles airport to the Willard hotel in DC? Is there a train that goes the whole way? If so, how much is it? I'm trying to decide whether to take a taxi or the train

A. If you've got the financial ability to pay for the Willard, you're best bet'll be to take a cab. Cost should be about $50 plus tip.

Other option is a bus to the Metro. For info on that,

But really taxi's will be the least stressful way to do it. And its not crazy expensive.

Which hotel did they stay in the Bachelor where they could see the washington monument out the window?
Q. My boyfriend and I go to school in DC and would love a nice hotel like that for our anniversary and would love a place like that for our anniversary! Please post if you know which hotel.

A. I can't think of any hotels that would give you such a view, except maybe the J. Willard Marriott on 14th Street near Freedom Plaza. And you'd want a pretty high floor. I can tell you that you can get an okay view of the 4th of July fireworks from Freedom Plaza.

For all we know, they were faking the view.
