Where to stay in Maui?

Q. It's our first time to HI. We want to see a lot; do a lot, see a great beach, etc. Where should we go. It doesn't have to be a 5 star hotel but "nicer" and a good value would be great. Is Value and Maui an oxy moron?

A. Wow Good choice, maui by far is my favorite island! I would definatly stay along the Kaanapali coast. There is a great chain of resorts ad condos along with many shops and resturaunts there! Here are all the hotels along Kaanapali beach:
The Sheraton: Basically just ar regular hotel with an average pool with a poolside bar. However part of the hotel is built into Blakc Rock, a cliff at the end of Kaanapali beach. This is were all the great snorkling is.
The Kaanapali Beach Hotel: Somtimes refered as " Maui's Most Hawaiian Hotel" . Along the grounds of the of the hotel, there are many activities such as cocnut checkers, jewlry expoos ,a dn many iother hawaiin games. Every night there is entertainment such as singing and magic shows.
The Whaler: A condiminium resort. It is one of the older hotels with an ok pool, however it is pretty cheap!
The Westin: A resort with a very nice pool, two waterslides, waterfall, voleeyball. There are many things like jewlry satnd hair braiding stands and snow cone stand. However the rooms are extremly tiny.
The Mariott: My personal favorite. It has both regular hotel rooms ad condos. It has three nice pool oneone with kiddie pirate ship and another with a waterslide. It has a poolside bar and grill Next to the pool is a market for breakfast and snacks. Its my personal favorite.
The Kaanapali Alii: A very nice condo resort. It s very expensive. It has very big and nice rooms. There are bbqs and and a pool
The Hyatt: An older hottel. However it has many tropical animals on the grounds such as Flamingos, penguins, parrots, fih and more. There are a couple shops in the hotel. There is a nice pool with a waterslide and an underwater bar. which is underneath a waterfall. However the rooms are very old and not as nice.
All of the resorts are right on the beach. They are all linked together by a paved sidewalk. Many people go on a moring walk/jog in gthe nice weather. In between the Westin and Thw Whaler is whalers Village. Itts has many shops and restuaunts. Some very nice and other c=are casual. There are also many activites to do such as wahler watching, dinner cruises, banna boating, and more. Five min away fro Kaanaplai is Lahaine an old town with many shops. There is also Kauaplua where thre is a very nice golf course and gold shops. All over there island there are many things to do...hope this hlped!
