A. The fare using a meter taxi will be somewhere around 300 baht, plus you will have to pay for the tolls which will be a total of 70 baht for the two tolls and there is also a airport fee of 50 baht which you pay over and above the meter fee. Tipping is not necessary but if the driver does a good job usually 20 baht or so.
Keep in mind that many people in the terminal will ask if you want a taxi, these people will charge higher fees and are not a legal taxi service. After you leave customs just walk outside and you will see a line of people along with taxis. Just tell the people at the booth what hotel and she will assign a driver. If the drive wants to charge you a flat rate do not accept it, just say meter only. You will never get a better rate then the meter.

Q. My favorite little boutique in the Opera district is booked. IMy girls and I like small intimate boutique hotels and would appreciate suggestions. It is for Fashion Week.
A. The Hotel Lutetia is beautiful. You can get a room for about 180 euroes. It has some sister hotels as well. Check on the Concorde Hotels website. The breakfast is ridiculously expensive, but there are lots of cafes nearby. I love the little eclair/chocolate shop around the corner. Plus the Lutetia is just 2 blocks from the Bon Marche.
