A. There are very inexpensive hotels in Pueto Vallarta that are also safe. I do not know about Cancun, since I saw a TV show that indicated that the cheap hotels are not on the island, where most of the hotels are, but in downtown Cancun, which has a high crime rate. For the least espensive hotels, try "http://vallartainfo.com/hotels.html" and look at the budget lodging section. Many of these are on the southside of Puerto Vallarta, or the "romantic zone" which is very safe, as is most of PV, and they cost from $28 a night.

A. Alantic city is a crack head infested money trap. Keep your expectations low and your credit cards hidden and you will have a good time. The further you get from the board walk the more ghetto it gets. Motels there will be 25 to 30 a night. But try the casinos first you can find good deals a lot of the time. 30 to 50 and a world of diffrence.
