What are "must" places to visit in March in Chicago?

Q. My friends & I are taking a girl trip to Chicago and are planning what we'd like to do. What are things that are definately things we should do/visit while on our 4 day trip in the month of March. We are staying at the W Chicago Lakeshore hotel. Anything near that we should know about?

A. A few blocks west of the W Chicago Lakeshore is Michigan Avenue - that's kind of the center ground for interesting things in Chicago, the main shopping district, and so on.

If you go north on Michigan Avenue you can go to the John Hancock Building - that's the gigantic building with the black "X"' marks on it. On the 96th floor is a terrific lounge with an amazing view of the city (especially from, what I am told, the women's bathroom.)

South on Michigan Avenue will take you to the Art Institute and Milleniuim Park, both very much worth seeing.

The bar at the top of the W is a very popular bar, so if you go there, you'll get a flavor of the beautiful people in Chicago.

Also, if it's late enough in March or April, the Cubs will start playing, and though it'll still be a little cold, a game at Wrigley Field and a walk in the surrounding neighbhorhood of Lakeview (southwest on Clark Street towards Belmont) is very nice.

I'm planning a bachelorette party and want to have it in downtown chicago-any suggestions?
Q. I want to get a nice trendy hotel room-possibly a suite with plenty of space for at least 5 girls. I checked out the W Hotel-a bit pricey...
Also, I need suggestions for bars/lounges. Help!

A. The Hyatt Regency on Wacker and Michigan is a great place. You can get a really cheap price on priceline.com by putting in your own bid. I've stayed there a few times and I paid $75 one time and $65 the next time. The second time around they upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost just because we asked. Also, they have a bar called the BIG bar in which they sell HUGE cocktails that can be shared as well as HUGE appetizers and the bar is quite trendy. The bar also has a VIP section which is just a little section in the corner that you could book for your little party and have designated seating.

what hotels are best in chicago, that are near to subway and close to downtown attractions?
