Whats a good hotel in Miami that close to the beach, restaurants and shopping areas?

Q. Ok i am planning a trip to go there for my birthday and i want to know what is a good hotel that is close to the beach, restaurants and shopping area.Walking distance of course, but the hotel has to be really nice.

A. I stayed at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel last summer. It was really nice located at the heart of the Art Deco district, perfectly situated at Miami Beach for those hoping to explore the entire region. The hotel is only a few moments from such attractions as the shopping on Lincoln Road, the regular events at the Miami Beach Convention Center and the many dining and nightlife spots that fill the entire area.
When I booked it cost me 180 bucks. You can check the latest prices at http://www.discount.bestresortasia.com/City/Miami_Beach.htm

How to get from Miami International Airport to South Beach?? (cheapest!)?
Q. Hey! It's my first time in Florida... i booked a hotel in Loews Hotel (address: 1601 Collins Avenue Miami Beach, Florida 33139) - it's supposed to be on South Beach... I was wondering what was the cheapest way to get there from MIA... it's about 20 minutes and I know taxi is gonna be expensive... are there any buses?? I checked with the hotel and there are no shuttles... was wondering if there are any other ways to get there! (maybe another secret shuttle i dont know about...?)

Thanks!

A. Supershuttle, pick it up outside arrivals, look overhead for the blue & yellow sign. $18.00 a person. Cab is in the same place: $32.00 + tip flat rate per cab. See the dispatcher outside arrivals. If 2 or more are traveling together, the cab is a better deal.

What is the best miami hotel pool?
Q. I'm planning on traveling to miami soon and I want a hotel that isn't incredibly expensive (no more than 250-300 a night) that has a great pool. I'm going to spend a lot of time next to it and I want something nice, but as secluded as possible. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!

A. I've got your place.

The Palms Hotel South Beach; www.thepalmshotel.com

Others:
Loews Miami Beach- nice pool but not secluded
Trump Sonesta Beach Resort- 4th Floor pool, outdoors, next to cabanas, overlooking ocean
Ritz-Carlton South Beach- Really nice, but might be too pricey
Raleigh Hotel South Beach- Nice, and secluded
National Hotel South Beach- Nice, and secluded
Doral Golf Resort and Spa- Several Pools, including one at the spa building, available to all adult guests. Super nice and quiet. The spa there is nice too, and so is the golf.
