Hotels for an afterparty in Downtown Boston?

Q. Anyone know a hotel that would be ok with about 20 people in a room on a late Friday night. The music would not be loud and we'd pretty much be talking and drinking, nothing too wild. If you know hotels that are really strict or that would block a bunch of people from coming in at the same time, pleas list those too.

A. I'd try the Sheraton in Copley Square just because of the way it is laid out. There are multiple entrances and there's elevator access to the rooms from those entrances so no one will even notice a crowd of people coming in from the Prudential Center. :)

Where to stay and what to do in Boston?
Q. It's a major city so I know it's going to be expensive but where would a cheaper but still very convenient location be to stay in (if you have any actual hotel recommendations that would be greatly appreciated).
Also, what are some must see/do things in Boston.
We don't have a car so we will be relying on either public transport or walking (preferably walking, if that's a realistic option).
We will be there for about 5 days and we are both 22.

A. The hostel run by HI is wicked cheap. HI actually runs two in the city, but one is seasonal

Public transport (the T is cheap) But walking should be fine too, much of the city, especially the touristy areas are walkable. You will need to take the T sometimes, but there will be many places you can walk to as well

I recommend you come in the summer or at least late spring or earl fall. Never come in winter. The weather is nasty, and one winter storm could ruin you whole trip

suggestions of things to do in Boston
Museums, lots of Museums: The MFA (art) Isabella Stuart Gardner (art) ICA (art) The Aquarium, The Science Museum, Harvard and MIT museums, not to mention all the Historical sites; sites along the Freedom Trail, John Adams House

Check listings for concerts, plays and other events

Red Sox Game,or other sports event

Visit the Harbor Islands, Whale watch, Blue Hills State reservation

shopping, lots of shopping in Quincy Market, Newbury Street or Harvard Square in Cambridge, also visit the insanely overpriced Copley Place Mall

Duck tours

Go to the top of the Prudential Tower for a great view

Take a Boston Harbor Cruise. There are all sorts of cruises for different interests

You may also like to take a side trip to Salem, the touristy spots are right off the Commuter rail train station
check out the Peabody Essex Museum, all the witch stuff, the historic site run by the Park Service and lots of shopping and restaurants

What are some cheap places to go to in boston? Like tourist atractions.?
Q. I am visiting with my girlfriend and we got a hotel in the middle of boston and we are to save as much money as possible. So i was wounderkng if there are any cheap tourist atractions. A really good restaurant is also good. Thanks

A. Get a copy of Improper Bostonian at your hotel (It's Free), it will list everything that is happening in town, and when the free nights are at the museums. Also what bands are playing at the Hard Rock, the House of Blues, Club Passim, etc.

Follow the Freedom Trail. Some of the sites are free (Old North Church, Kings Chapel, Granary Burying Ground, etc.) It's a nice scenic walk. Go all the way over the bridge to Charlestown and climb the Bunker Hill Monument (free). Go to the USS Constitution (ship, free), and take the water shuttle back. $2.00 and 15 minutes, the cheapest harbor cruise there is. Fabulous views.

There's a free classical music concert tonight at the Hatch Shell on the Charles.

You can get half price tickets at the BosTix booth in Copley Square (GREAT place to sit for a while), but I think only the Comedy venues have shows now. (The Boston Comedy Festival is this week)http://www.bostix.org/booth_locations.asp

Friday in Copley Square there's a Farmer's Market. Get stuff for a picnic and go over to the Public Garden and watch the Swan Boats. If you are into poetry, download a few and read them to her. I guarantee that's a romantic experience.

I like French restaurants. Le Petit Bistro Robert in Kenmore is nice and not too pricey.
Or wander around the North End and check menus until you find one that matches your wallet.
