Where are rusian people seek for information about travel?

Q. Where they read hotel reviews, trip reviews? Are there any local popular websites?

A. my sister in law travels from russia yearly. she cares little, as i think most russians would, about a hotel review. do you go to seville spain to speak about a nice hotel? or a funny toilet? (i hear americans speaking ALWAYS about toilets??!?) trip reviews also seem to not interest her. i think she is typical of russians. yes, asking the local tour operator is the best way.
websites abound. write in cyrillic and (if you can read russian) you will see what tour sites are like for russia. search places in cyrillic. cyprus is кипÑ, greece is гÑеÑиа. tour is ÑÑÑ and tourism is ÑÑÑизм good luck!

Etiquette for bringing your own sheets to a hotel?
Q. I'm considering bringing my own sheets based on recent hotel reviews but I'm worried about insulting housekeeping. I booked this particular place because it was close (to my p.o.I.) & cheap & really I only plan on sleeping there. I've never brought my own bedding to a hotel, so what exactly do I do? Where do I put the hotel bedding ? Does housekeeping still make the bed if my own sheets & blankets are there ? HELP !

A. A great many people I know like to provide their own bed linen. For some it is the feel of a particular cloth and for others it is the sanitary thing. They inform the hotel/motel staff the bed linens are their own and tip the maids to just clean the room and leave the bed alone. Be very sure to contact the maid staff or your bed linens could end up missing. Of course, you could always remove your bed linen and place them in your suitcase when you leave the room and then make the bed yourself when you return at the end of the day. The service staff really doesn't care. Just let them know.
