Where is a good place to stay in Galway?

Q. Ideally near the hospital. Have an appointment and don't feel up to making a return journey from Donegal so plan to stay in a guesthouse, B&B or cheap hotel the night before.

Any recommendations? Somewhere quiet, not above a nightclub.

A. Here are a list of a few that are in Newcastle, Galway which is the area where the hospital is..Ring a few & hopefully you find one that suits...None of them would be near a nightclub as it is outside the city centre..Good luck with your treatment & get well soon .. :)http://www.galway.net/acc/galwaycity/newcastle.html..this one is near the hospital also http://www.ashgrovehousegalway.com/

If we want to pub hop in galway do we want galway city or county?
Q. young couple just out of college, going to Ireland and want to have a blast, I want to avoid tourist traps and heard Galway is the place to go, but city or county? Looking for some kick ass pubs with a younger crowd
Thanks! So the city it is, any recs on where to stay? Should we rent a car?

A. the city is the business!!pub crawls are dangerous!in a good way though!
you wont need a car to get there or around once you're in the city but if you would like to travel around and see the county a car would be needed. its a beautiful county.
there are plenty of hotels and b&bs and you'll probably get some good offers at the moment.
for a hostel try sleepzone.ie or barnacles
or the spanish arch hotel on quay street is right in the middle of town (not sure of the rates but know some people who stayed there and it was really handy)
hope this helps or at least points you in the right direction! :)

Are the Travel lodge Galway rates per person sharing?
Q. Does any body know or anybody who has previously stayed in Travel Lodge Galway know if the â¬35 rate is per person sharing?

A. All Travelodges charge per room not per person...
