Is the Savoy hotel really that expensive?

Q. I found good deals in expedia, tripadvisor and other reliable websites that were about 5000 dollars for an 8 day stay at the hotel, and round trip...for two people!
I thought this was fake but its actually the real price.....how is this? I thought the Savoy was one of the most expensive hotels in London, even more now that theres too many tourists..plus there were other less known hotels that were around the same price...

A. The Savoy can be very expensive. Make sure that it is the Savoy in London the deal is referring to - there are more Savoys in the UK and elsewhere.

The Theatre Tea is served on a three tiered cake stand and includes: Lobster bisque with diced lobster and curry whipped cream, Mushroom veloute with foie gras, Duck consommé with red vegetable and smoked duck breast julienne, Pumpkin sage duchesse with crème fraiche, Salmon teriyaki with green onion and fulikake, Duck and papaya wonton, Smoked chicken tart with parsley custard and piquillo, Pastrami roulade with mustard port and capers on toast, Prawn salad with apple and avocado, Smoked salmon diced with colza-dill dressing on sable, Confit rutabaga sweet and sour, carrot and toasted onion foam.

For dessert, Blueberry 'conversation', 'Chocolate cannele', Blanc Manger, Chocolate and orange soring roll, Mango cheesecake.
