Is it completely dark at night above the arctic circle during winter?

Q. I'm going to the Ice Hotel in northern Sweden around Christmas time and I am planning to book a Northern Lights snowmobile tour that goes out at night. I'm just curoius how that works. Is the countryside completely dark at night or is there enough reflection from the snow in the sky or moonlight to light up the landscape a little bit?

A. Jukkasjärvi is a town in Swedish Lapland in Kiruna Municipality, Norrbotten County, northern Sweden. It has 541 inhabitants (2000), situated at 321 meters elevation at 67°51â²N, 20°37â²E.

The town got its first resident settlers in the 17th century, and its name is of Finnish origin. Jukanjärvi means the lake of Jukka (or Jukka's lake), where Jukka is a Finnish male name. The village is a popular tourist accommodation during the winter months and is best known for its ice hotel. The wooden church in the village is well known for its wall paintings, and a local museum is located nearby.

How much would you get fined if you broke one of the Ice Sculptures from the Ice Museum in Alaska?
Q. Just now I'm watching Travel Channel and it was showing the very first Ice hotel/museum in America - located in Alaska. Well if you were to accidentally broke or etc., one of the sculptures how much do you think you'd get fined for? because the people that made them it took them around 300 man hours to make. So would you get fined or get arrested?

What would you think?

A. If you did it on purpose........arrested for destruction of property....
By accident? Probably nothing.

Can you leave the country with a rental car?
Q. I'm trying to go from New York City to the Ice Hotel near Quebec City. Flights are surprisingly expensive, so we're looking into driving.

A. Yes you can. Sometimes there is a pretty high charge if you want to drop it off out of the country. But if you're bringing it back no problem. Just let them know and make sure the insurance issues are taken care of and be sure to bring it back!
