What would you pay on average for a hotel room? How expensive is too expensive?

Q. I'm doing a report for a Guest Management Service class on "How Expensive is too Expensive?" in regards to hotel prices. What you pay on average for a hotel room? And what do you think certain age groups pay for hotels? Who's more attracted to the expensive hotels and the cheap or medium priced hotels?

A. On average, I pay between $80-$100 for a moderate hotel room that offers free internet and breakfast. I will pay up to $250 for a hotel room in a prime location (such as major cities or on the beach). The time of year also effects the cost of a room. A hotel in Washington, D.C. can be $75.00 a night in March but $375 in October or April. I think younger hotel guests are more interested in finding the cheapest price. Older guests are willing (and able) to pay higher prices for a prime location in high season that offers amenities such as restaurants, spa services, gym, pool, etc. Families want a moderate price for a clean, safe hotel.

What's the best time to book a trip to Cancun for Winter 2008?
Q. My friend and I are planning a trip to Cancun, Mexico sometime in February 2008. I was wondering if there's a good time to book this trip. I wanted to book a flight & hotel package online. I've been checking many web-site such as expedia, orbitz, hotwire, etc.
What's the best time of year to book this trip so I can get the cheapest price. Also, does anyone know any good web-sites that offer cheap prices? The hotel must be all-inclusive.

Thanks!

A. Right now is because most tour operators offer Early Booking Bonuses now for travel between Oct - Dec. Check with your travel agent and they can give you a list of what they call EBB's ( Early Booking Bonuses. )

What are some good hotels around the Sandusky, Ohio (Cedar Point) Area?
Q. A friend and I are planning a road trip in late June/early July to go to Cedar Point and we want to know if there are any good and cheap (as in price) hotels around the area. We don't want to stay in a dump, but we're both college students, so we can't afford a five-star hotel. Also, if there are any hotels you can find us that have special deals that would be great!

Thanks in advance.

A. Ok I live in a suburb in Cleveland around 50 miles from Cedar Point and i was in the same shoes you were!

So here is a list of some hotels in the link i have for you that are great for cheap but not dumpy hotels.

As in cheap i mean around anywhere from 70-100 a night! Since Sandusky is a tourist trap, dont expect to find a moderate hotel for 50-80 a night. Even though you mentioned above that you do not want expensive hotels, take a look at the Great Wolf Lodge, Castaway Bay, and Kalahari hotels..these places will make your jaw drop!
