What are some cheap places to go to in boston? Like tourist atractions.?

Q. I am visiting with my girlfriend and we got a hotel in the middle of boston and we are to save as much money as possible. So i was wounderkng if there are any cheap tourist atractions. A really good restaurant is also good. Thanks

A. Get a copy of Improper Bostonian at your hotel (It's Free), it will list everything that is happening in town, and when the free nights are at the museums. Also what bands are playing at the Hard Rock, the House of Blues, Club Passim, etc.

Follow the Freedom Trail. Some of the sites are free (Old North Church, Kings Chapel, Granary Burying Ground, etc.) It's a nice scenic walk. Go all the way over the bridge to Charlestown and climb the Bunker Hill Monument (free). Go to the USS Constitution (ship, free), and take the water shuttle back. $2.00 and 15 minutes, the cheapest harbor cruise there is. Fabulous views.

There's a free classical music concert tonight at the Hatch Shell on the Charles.

You can get half price tickets at the BosTix booth in Copley Square (GREAT place to sit for a while), but I think only the Comedy venues have shows now. (The Boston Comedy Festival is this week)http://www.bostix.org/booth_locations.asp

Friday in Copley Square there's a Farmer's Market. Get stuff for a picnic and go over to the Public Garden and watch the Swan Boats. If you are into poetry, download a few and read them to her. I guarantee that's a romantic experience.

I like French restaurants. Le Petit Bistro Robert in Kenmore is nice and not too pricey.
Or wander around the North End and check menus until you find one that matches your wallet.

Whats the easiest way to get to boston?
Q. From stamford, ct and how much would it be in tolls?

A. just take AMtrak up to South Station in Bosotn
no tolls

or you could take I - 95 to 91 N to 84 E to the Mass Pike east, if youa re just visiting for the day, head to the Riversde T station in Newton (from the Mass Pike, take I 95 South, get off the first exit, veer right, merge and it will be on the left in less than a 1/4 mile - you pass a bidge and a hotel, if you see a golf course, you went oo far) parking is 6 dollars,

fi you are staying overnight then drive into the city (taking Amtrak is still better, Boston driving is notoriously bad)

tolls are not bad

from I -4 to I-95, tolls are 1.75 each way
from I 84 to Copley Square exit in Boston, tolls are 4.15 each way

I'm a 17 year old high school student who is planning on going to Boston for 4 or more days during the summer.?
Q. If anyone could please just make a list of things to do, places to go, as well as places to stay and eat while I'm there it would be greatly appreciated. Also, as a student i'm obviously on a budget. So anything cheap or free to do while i'm visiting the city would be great. Thank you very much!

A. Newbury Street is great for shopping. It has a lot of cute little shops. It can be expensive but is fun to just walk and look and not buy anything.
The Prudential Center also has some shops and a food court which has cheap food. It also has a restaurant called Wagamama that I love. It has a variety of asian food that isn't too expensive.
Copley Square is fun just to look around at old buildings. There is also a public library which is huge.
Fire and Ice which is around Copley is a really fun restaurant. You make a bowl of food and then bring it to the grill where they cook it.
There is a freedom trail which you can walk for free that brings you to many famous and historic sites. http://www.thefreedomtrail.org/
I also recommend the Museum of Science. It can be a bit expensive but it is definitely worth it and is absolutely amazing.
I would also go to the Boston Common and the Public Garden. There are also quite a few fast food shops around this area.
The Museum of Fine Arts has free admission on Wednesday nights I believe. If you like art this is definitely a good place to go.
I think the U.S.S. Constitution gives free tours during the day.
Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall is also a must. It has many shops and street performers.
If you don't have anywhere to stay I would look into hostels because hotels are quite expensive. It may be hard only being 17 though.
All of the things I mentioned are accessible by the MBTA. If you get a charlie card it is 30 cents cheaper than a charlie ticket per ride.

Good Luck and Have Fun!!!
