Will flight or hotel prices increase after the Olympics?

Q. I am currently staying in Singapore and was wondering if it was worth me visting Beijing before the Olympics 2008 start to save a bit of money on the flight or hotel costs after the Olympics are over.
Has past Olympic events caused a permanent increase in flights or hotel prices? Or do I have nothing to be concerned about and just book my ticket for the end of the year?

A. The flights and hotels during the Olympics are much more expensive than normal.

This year my ticket is $2,000, where as last year it was $1300.
I would think the tickets are going to return to a normal rate after the Olympics.

Wondering if hotel prices in Vegas will go down the sooner it gets to July?
Q. will hotel prices go down the sooner it gets to July for Vegas?

A. Prices drop in July and August because the heat is so high. April, May and June are busy months as well as September and October as the weather is near perfect at those times. They might come down this year it is hard to tell but if things keep up they will be as low as they are right now.
