What is the distance between the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum and the Paris Sheraton Airport Hotel?

Q. I am planning to arrive in Paris by the Train from London via the English Channel. I wanted to know whether it is advisable to stay at the Sheraton Airport Hotel in Paris if I want to go sight-seeing to Eiffel Tower and Louvre Museum and the Bridge in Paris. Also, how long would it take to cover the whole of Paris (sight-seeing)? Is there any particular tour of Paris that I should be aware of? Please advise.

A. I agree: BAD BAD BAD idea. Coming by train you will be lucky to arrive directly in downtown Paris so why stay at a hotel far out in the suburbs if you are coming to visit Paris?

You could walk between the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre (3 km = under 2 miles) or take the métro or bus. Check the www.ratp.fr website to download maps and other info. How long it takes to cover the whole of Paris depends on your idea of sightseeing. 2 days is a bare minimum to get a glimpse of the main attractions. But you could stay weeks and not have time to enjoy everything either.

No need to take tours unless maybe those bicycle tours, they are kinda fun and you learn a lot. A less sporty way of seeing the main attraction is the boat tours on the Seine. If you are traveling alone and haven't prepared your trip much hiring a tour guide for yourself can be a good idea for half a day or so, otherwise forget it. Your hotels will have brochures or you can get a list or tour guides from the tourist office (www.parisinfo.com). Don't go on any of the big tours, they are ridiculous and a complete waste of time.

Can 16 year olds check into hotels in Paris without an adult?
Q. Could two sixteen year olds stay at a hotel in paris, without adults?? I was in italy a few months ago and we got our passports taken for like id at the hotel... will they freak out in paris if we're not 18??

XOXO

A. To the best of my knowledge it is not illegal but because you are minors some hotels may worry.

As minors you're not legally able to make a contract and, in theory, renting a hotel room is a form of contract.

I'd check before hand with whatever hotel you have reservations for and find out if its a problem.

Is it okay to book a double room for three people in a hotel?
Q. I'm trying to book a hotel in Paris and Venice. I have two other girls with me, and we want to save money. Will hotels allow you to book a double when there are three people staying in the room? Thanks!

A. I don't know about paris and venice but its done in the states all the time.....most of them have two double beds so one with 2 people and l alone.
