What is the best path for running in downtown Milwaukee?

Q. I will be staying at the hotel Aloft and would like to running outside from my hotel for around 6 miles with minimal stops.

A. The best path would be determined by your own criteria. For options ask the concierge at the hotel.

What is that hotel called where Marconi broadcast from?
Q. Did he stay there?
Right, it wasn't a hotel then but it is now, right? Is it the same building? And what's it called?

A. "Hi"......it wasn't a "Hotel" is was a Hospital in fact in December 1901 Marconi assembled his "RECIEVER" at what is now called Signal Hill, St. John's, New Foundland , nearly the closest point to Europe in North America.

He set up his receiving apparatus in an abandoned hospital that straddled the cliff facing Europe on the top of Signal Hill.

After unsuccessful attempts to keep an antenna aloft with balloons and kites, because of the high winds, he eventually managed to raise an antenna with a kite for a short period of time for each of a few days.

Accounts vary, but Marconi's notes indicate that the transatlantic message was received via this antenna.

Hope that helps ya and a "Merry Christmas"" ! *S* (Michael C...)

EDIT.....Ok...you are making it sound as if he just did this from a building which in fact he didn't !

*NOW*.....on 1901 at Table Head, Glace Bay , Nova Scotia the first wireless message was sent across the Atlantic Ocean to England . A spark gap transmitter with 75 kilowatts of power fed 4 tall antennas on the 5-acre site overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Marconi chose this site for its elevated flat expanse and unobstructed view out over the ocean Some of the concrete footings for the massive towers can still be seen on the grounds. Marconi built a much larger wireless site west of here known as Marconi Towers. In 1907 he initiated the first permanent transatlantic wireless service from Marconi Towers to its companion site in Clifden, Ireland.

So.....Signal Hill was where he recived the first message (not sent one) and Glace Bay was where he first transmitted one so I have no idea where you got the idea he did it from a Hotel !

"Merry Christmas" to you ! *S*
