What does 'gay friendly' mean when applied to a hotel in Amsterdam?

Q. The hotel I am about to book is advertised as gay friendly, what does that mean or am I just be stupid?

A. It means the management and staff does not look surprised of to men sleep together and show affection in public.
So there will be more gays and more open than in other hotels.
But it is okay for heteros too.

How is the Bulldog hotel in Amsterdam?
Q. We are coming over for the cup in November, and would like to know if the Bulldog Hotel Apartments are a good place to stay. Any input on the area its in (i know it's near the red-light district) or the hotel itself would be greatly appreciated.
Ok, I know for a fact that it's not fancy. Please refrain from answering unless you have actually been to Amsterdam and stayed there or are Nederland and can offer helpful tips.

A. me and some buddies stayed at the Hotel Restaurant De Korenaer on Damrak ...good location, not as good as bulldogs, but, its prolly hte cheapest you will find...wasn't 4-star treatment, but, did the job...

What are some good hotels in Amsterdam if you're after debauchery?
Q. I was wanting to see if anyone has any hotel advice for someone going to Amsterdam for some debauchery. Also, where are some good places to go sightsee after a visit to a "coffeeshop" or two?

A. I stayed at this one once:

The red light district is just a few meters away, and it's only a short walk from Central Station. As to sightseeing after a visit to a coffeeshop, I wouldn't recommend that. Better check out one of the many Indonesian or Indian restaurants; you might feel hungry. And be careful, Dutch weed is "the real stuff". Try Northern Light and a Heineken Beer, and you'll feel very..., well: Dutch.

Have a good time!
