What are some good places to visit in Chicago?

Q. My sister and I are planning on going to Chicago for the week of the fourth of July. What are some fun, interesting, and relatively inexpensive places to go? Is there an Off-Broadway kind of thing in Chicago? What are some good places to eat? Are there any cheap hotels that aren't full of crack-heads?

If you're going to make some suggestions, keep in mind that my sister and I are 18 and 25, respectively. That puts some limits on what we can do.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :]

A. Why donât you check out-
Navy Pier
Sears Tower
Chicago style pizza like Gino's East, Lou Malnati's or Giordanoâs
Millennium Park
Michigan Ave
Chicagoâs ethnic neighborhoods (Greek Town, Chinatown, etc)
Art Institute of Chicago
Museum of Science and Industry
Shedd Aquarium
John Hancock Building
Field Museum
Solider Field
Cubs/Whitesox Game
Buckingham Fountain and Grant Park
Lincoln Park Zoo (free)
Chicago Cultural Center
Alder Planetarium
Museum of Contemporary Photography
Chicago Childrenâs Theatre
Chicago Theatre
Second City Comedy Club
Water Tower
The Garfield Park Conservatory
Six Flags Great America in Gurnee
Chicago style hot dogs

Hotels are in abundance, your good if you stay in the loop area generally.

Is Chinatown in Chicago a good neighborhood?
Q. Im planning on going to Lollapolooza this Aug and im in the process of booking a hotel. the cheapest one i could find was in Chinatown. I was going to go on google street to see if i could determine if it was a decent place or not... but it didnt work for some reason.

So... Is Chinatown in Chicago a good area?

and if anyone knows of some cheap hotels in chicago that are along a bus rout, that would be great to know as well!!!

A. it's not the best part of town but it seems safe enough.

What is the best hotel around Chicago?
Q. I am looking to stay at a hotel in Chicago NEAREST to their navy base in great lakes. I am trying to visit my boyfriend for when he graduates and I'd like the cheapest or nearest place possible. And if I do decide to stay there, is Chicago a good city to get my hotel, or is there a city closer?

A. I don't think you're ready for the BIG CITY. The naval base is in North Chicago. It is not a part of the city of Chicago. In fact it is about 37 miles from downtown Chicago. Below are some hotels near the training center:

Fairly good restaurants are not too far in Gurnee
