When was the Amalfi Hotel built?
Q. Hi, I was just wondering when the Amalfi Hotel in Chicago was built. Thanks.
A. In 2004, Hostmark Hospitality Group and Shamrock Holdings, Inc. leased, renovated, and repositioned approximately 123,000 square feet of space located on the first six floors of a preexisting office / condominium building at 20 W. Kinzie St, Chicago, IL 60610 and opened the Amalfi Hotel in that space.
Inasmuch as 20 W. Kinzie St, Chicago, IL 60610, was a preexisting structure, including the headquarters of United Airlines, when the Hostmark Hospitality Group and Shamrock Holdings created the Amalfi Hotel within it, I shall assume that your question refers only to the hotel space and not to the building of which it became a part when the hotel opened in 2004.

Q. Is the area near House of Blues nice? Are there any luxury hotels? I'm seeing a show at HOB and would like to stay close but all of the hotels I'm familiar with are a half mile away or more.
