If I stay in the Meadowlands how can I get into NYC?

Q. So my friend and I are getting a hotel in the Meadowlands area which is listed as a 3* w/ laundry, pool, comp breakfast, and internet on hotwire (anyone know what hotel it may be)? But once we're there how can we get into NYC the quickest and cheapest? We do have a car but would rather use the mass transit. I appreciate any help in the matter. Thanks everyone! :)

A. Take the Jersey Transit train at the Weehawken Station just on the other side of the turnpike! your hotel is just on the other side of rte 3, so just take 3 over the the turnpike, turn right and then a quick left at the light at the bottom of the ramp. This should take you to the parking area for the station. you can take a quick train ride to penn station or jump on one of the hoboken trains....they criss-cross at weehawken! if you take the hoboken train, you can go downtown by ferry or path train. if you take the penn station train, you'll be at midtown 34 street! have fun!

Need help finding hotel in NJ near NY waterway ports?
Q. We are going to NY for a yankees game. We'd like to stay in NJ as the Bronx area is a sketchy place to stay. We'd also like to take the Yankee Clippers ferry to the game. On the website, it lists the ports for pickup (pier 11, West 38th, Port Imperial, East 34th, etc.) but does not give an exact location. Can anyone recommend a hotel ($150 price range) near one of those ports?

A. There are no hotels near Port Imperial or in Hoboken. You could stay at one of the hotels in the Newport area of Jersey City and catch the light rail or PATH to Hoboken (about a 10 minute ride or so), to catch your ferry from there. The waterfront area of Jersey City is totally safe. Here are some hotel options in Newport:

Courtyard-Jersey City Newport
540 Washington Blvd, Jersey City, NJ - (201) 626-6600

Candlewood Suites
21 2nd St, Jersey City, NJ - (201) 659-2500

Doubletree-Jersey City
455 Washington Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ - (201) 499-2406

As for Pier 11, W 38th and E 34th, those landings are all in Manhattan.

Best Bar in Hoboken for my 21st?
Q. Im turning 21 soon and i am looking for a place to celebrate in Hoboken. I would like a place with a dance floor, but not a club atmosphere, more of a chill lounge. Outside of that everything else is up in the air as far as location and size.

A. Try the W Hotel, Lua or 340 Grill. Madison's is pretty cool, but is more of a bar than a cool place to hang out.
