How long would 1400 Australian Dollars last for in Brisbane?

Q. On a very tight budget, how long do you think?
(Hotels and flights already paid for)

A. Depending on what you plan to see & do , my guess is that with food , transport & entry fees etc a you need to budget $150 a day...quite likely you won't spend that every day but it's surprising how quickly money disappears when you're traveling around...at that rate it'd last around 10 days so at a stretch , say 2 weeks...anything more would be a bonus.

What would be the best places to stay at in Brisbane?
Q. I am going to Brisabane in August for a week and would like to know what the best suburbs and hotels to stay in are.
I will be going out clubbing so somewhere really close to good clubbing spots would be great!
Thanks in advance (:

A. The Stamford Plaza is probably the best hotel, but if you're looking to be near clubs then nothing beats the Emporium in the Valley. Also try limes hotel.

What to do and see in Brisbane for two weeks?
Q. Im planning a holiday with my 8year old to Australia but we can only go for two weeks due to school and work so I've had to narrow it down to one city Brisbane (Goldcoast).

Would it be better to visit early July or for Christmas in December? What is the weather like there during both times of the year?

So any recommendations/suggets itenary of what to do/see regarding attractions, activities and the beach? Also any family hotels you recommend?

The other purpose of this trip is to get a feel for Brisbane as I hope to move there once I qualify as a nurse.

A. Brisbane and the Gold Coast are seperate (about an hours drive apart).

Where are you coming from? If you are from a cold climate I would suggest July because 1) it's cooler and 2) December is school holidays and going to be full of tourists / more expensive
