Are trained, certified lifeguards required by law for hotel pools in Ohio?

Q. I'm curious because of an incident that happened recently in Cleveland, Ohio. A 10 yr old boy drowned in a hotel swimming pool. It was during a birthday party. There were about 40 kids in the pool, 3-4 adult chaperone's, and apparently no lifeguard on duty.

A. Pools open to the public carry a license from the county health department that, among other things, governs whether or not they are required to have a lifeguard on duty. Most hotels are allowed to just put up a sign stating that no lifeguard is present / swim at your own risk. If that sign was not in place I would contact the county health department to see if in fact there should be a lifeguard on duty.

spending quality time with a 15 year old daughter?
Q. I am planning on taking my daughter out of town next weekend, I need some suggestions for a quaint town within a couple hours from Cleveland, Ohio area. Hotel, Shopping, Food. We are only going for 2 days. Any Suggestions?

A. Here are 100 links to places featured in the legendary Cleveland series "One Tank Trips" from Channel 8 as well as the series's official website. Not everything is a two hour drive and some of the destinations are definitely a no go for a 15 year old, but it's a good jumping off point to find something interesting for both of you.

About how much would a trip to Australia cost?
Q. I would be flying from cleveland, ohio. I want to know about how much it would cost for airfare, hotel, and other various trip expenses?

A. Hello, I am from Australia. The airfare would cost around $2000 - $2300 AUD for a return ticket in economy class.
Hotels can cost anywhere between $60 a night to $200 a night AUD
Food and drinks are average prices, say if you want Japanese, burger shop, chinese or a typial Australian cafe or Italian you could pay between $10 and $20 a meal AUD
